SYNOPSIS

Knots of images and concepts about the other place, the place of the Other, inside. The relation to an eluding origin, the construction of identity, the heterotopy and heterochrony of women’s bodies. Knot-Not-Knot is a short silent collage made out of Angelidi’s material, with a high degree of transformative intervention, which was made to be screened on very large screens, in public urban spaces, in the frame of the 1st Biennale of Contemporary Art of Thessaloniki. Digital image processing and editing create new worlds out of the existent.

STATEMENT OF THE CREATORS

A video-art work, composed specifically for the Public Screen project. As raw material we have used fragments from the films by Angelidi; distorted, inverted, transformed, juxtaposed. We have weaved knots of images and concepts for the other place, the place of the Other, inside. The relation to an eluding origin, the construction of identity, the topos and heterochrony of women’s bodies. Gaze and speech, tongue and eye – desire – and laughter, outside. Knots and revelations. THE OTHER IS INSIDE I AM / NOT / THE OTHER IS / NOT / A WOMAN IS NOT A NOT I AM I NOT A WOMAN?
